Reelex (Reetz - Celex interface) note on "Word class".

The word class is a re-coding of information in the morphological Celex Lemma databases.
(Reelex copies the information from the Lemma databases into the Word databases, which do not carry word class information in Celex.)

Databases (Files) Column(s)
Dutch (DML/DMW) Last code in square brackets in Column 13 (e.g. 'aafdraaien': ((af)[P],(draai)[V])[V] is 'Verb').
If Column 13 is empty, Column 4 'F'/'I'/'U' is coded as 'X' ## why that?? ##.
Celex often does not give a word class for Dutch!
English (EML/EMW) Last code in square brackets in Column 22 (e.g. 'abandoned': ((abandoned)[V])[A] is 'Adjective').
If Column 22 is empty, Column 4 'I'/'O'/'R'/'U' is coded as 'X' ## why that?? ##.
Celex often does not give a word class for English!
German (GML/GMW) Last code in square brackets in Column 14 (e.g. 'aalen': ((Aal)[N])[V] is 'Verb').
If Column 14 is empty, Column 19 'Sx' is coded as 'Noun' and 'ix'/'rx' as 'Verb'.
(Column 14 is often empty in Celex for German!)
